On the morning of November 11, the 2019 Jinhua China-Africa Cultural Cooperation and Exchange Week Forum on China-Africa Economic and Trade Relations opened. This activity was co-sponsored by the Jinhua Municipal Government and Zhejiang Normal University (ZNU).
Nearly 1000 people from 25 African countries, Canada, and China—including government officials, ambassadors to China, representatives of businesses and business associations, procurement officials of UN agencies, and domestic experts on African studies—gathered together in Jinhua.
Chen Long, secretary of the Municipal Party Committee, welcomed the guests from home and abroad and introduced the situation of Jinhua's open development. He said that Jinhua will further expand trade with Africa and accelerate the reform of the Yiwu International Trade Reform Experimental Zone; further deepen cooperation with Africa in investment and production capacity, attracting more African companies to invest in Jinhua to promote mutually beneficial cooperation; further deepen the cultural exchanges with Africa; give full play to the role of ZNU at the cutting edge; and accelerate the establishment of a demonstration zone for China-Africa cultural cooperation and exchange.
During the event, the “China-Africa Night” carnival, the Africa investment promotion conference, trade talks themed “African buyers in Jinhua,” and other activities were held. The guests will also visit the dominant industries that best exemplify Jinhua's characteristics and enjoy the uniquely welcoming atmosphere of Jinhua.
